Sources close to Sunderland Football Club today revealed that Peter Reid is to solve Kevin Phillips delivery crisis.
For a number of months now it has been seen that pint-sized Phillips cannot create goals, he can just let the ball bounce off him into the net. This is professionally known as Andy Cole Syndrome. This has not been a problem in the past, but with strike partner Niall Quinn aging and becoming more prone to injury, the small man has seen his goals to games ratio drop dramatically.
Local media, such as the Evening Chronicle and Century F.M�s Three Legends all agree that the leprechaun like Phillips is not getting the delivery he needs. Amazingly, Peter Reid has decided to get out the chequebook and solve this problem.
The Geordie Citizen can reveal that within a number of days a new signing will arrive at The Stadium Of Light. The player is an expert at delivery, and in fact has made a career out of it. The player, currently at Dominoes, Pizza, is famed for his motor scooter and guaranteeing to deliver within 30 minutes. He is expected to arrive on Wearside for Reid�s new training schedule, which involves swinging from trees and scratching other players. Time will only tell if Reid has it right with his latest signing, believed to be in the region of �9.80 and a �2 tip.
