We're back! We did sort of promise we would be back soon, and in the true spirit of North Tyneside Council here we are a few years down the line making it look as if we're doing something. At present we're busy uploading the archive of stories from the old Whitley Bay Citizen, but new content is also planned. No, really! A couple of requests - if you were a contributor to the old Whitley Bay Citizen and would like to contribute to Citizen Extra then pleasewe'd love to have you back. Similarly, if you have never heard of the Citizens before but think you could write some funny stuff then we need you too! All you have to do to get started is register as a user on the site by clicking on the link on the left. Once you have registered you will have links where you can submit your own content. If you're not from the Whitley Bay or Newcastle area then don't worry - the site is set up in such a way that we can create microsites for any area you wish. So if your area needs some spoofing, then just e-mail

We already have a microsite set up for Student Life stories (incorporating the old University Citizen), so all you students with plenty of time on your hands, if you have a story about your school/college/university then please submit it. In the meantime, please pass on the word - the Citizens are back!
